Perry Promos, a class at Perry Meridian High School, gave me the opportunity to make hundreds of videos in the most creative fashion possible. I had free reign. This video, meant to introduce 8th graders to their future administrators and high school building, took on the look of a National Geographic video. It was by far the most popular video I made with Perry Promos.
I did this project with IUPUI, a local college where I am from in Indiana, when I was a Sophomore in high school. The idea was to give members of the surrounding community an overview of a free health checkup that was happening at a local church. At this time, I had only made a few videos and was just a kid with an Iphone and a little bit of a vision.
This was one of the coolest projects I have ever done. My wonderful professor at the time, Nathan Adam, gave our class footage from the Believer music video and had us edit it into a copy of the original music video and then add our own flare. I loved this project, and I love this video.
As COVID-19 raged throughout most of the country, my friends and I worked furiously to publish our yearly literary magazine with our favorite high school club, Creative Writing Club. COVID-19 made it almost impossible. In the spirit and legacy of our club, I was asked to made a promotional video for the book. Filming from my car, seeing most my friends for the first time in a month, it was a hard video to make, but my favorite.
This video was made during my time with Perry Promos at Perry Meridian and was one of the most fun videos I have ever made. With a few hours to spare, free reign, some lights, and a prop closet, you can really make great cinema. All jokes aside, this video is a cult classic among my high school friends and looks good all these years later.
Every year my high school would host a Canned Food Drive. This year, 2019, I made a music video for each day of the week of the canned food drive. This video, a parody of the song ‘God Is’ by K*nye W*st, took a lot of set up and work, but in the end, it was worth it (our class won the food drive).
Even though this was a final project, this video was super fun to make. Project Access let us into their doors to showcase their amazing kids and their friendships. We built a lesson plan and a chain! Never break the Chain!
Another Belmont project, this time at the end of my semester, and with some more experience editing with premiere. This video features my best friend, Gabrielle Meyers, and excellent musicianship and artist story.
I made this video about mindfulness during the pandemic as a class project. In the video stars one of my best friends from Belmont University, Gabrielle Meyers. This video was my first edit on premiere and not WeVideo. I was proud with my project then, but its nice to look back and see how far I have come.
One of the first classes I took at Belmont University was called Mass Media & Society. In that class, I made this video, about COVID-19 and the impact it would have on the future of film. I think my teacher enjoyed it, and I enjoyed working through all of the footage it took to made the opening sequence.
